Yes, it is that time of the year again and I have sat in front of the telly and made up my supply of paper pots for the pending seedlings.
So in no time at all, I whipped up this little batch for the tomato's,peas and beans to go into.
The paper pots are great as you can then just drop them into the allotment without having to disturb the roots and last year the sweetcorn really benefited from this method.
Next job, potatos !
PS - What do you think of the sites new look :D
Like this as it saves money and is a great way to recycle newspaper. I know we sell paper potters but with some origami and blue peter like skills looks like you have done a great job.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent idea! Are they easy to make?
ReplyDeleteKate yes, just a single newspaper page folded in half and wrapped around a Deo can ( must have a concave base ) allow about 1 -2 inchs at the base and push down on the can to close the tube, and then ethier a staple or tape to hold it closed ( dont like tape ) :D
ReplyDeleteYou are so keen, I wish I had some of your enthusiasm just now. A fellow plot holder very kindly made me 2 sizes of newspaper pot makers out of wood that he turned himself. I must get them out of the garage and make some up. You are an inspiration again.
ReplyDeleteI like these very much. Such a great way to recycle.
